Methodological Information

Methods: The list of journal titles includes all titles in the Business category of journals in Clarivate Analytics Journal Citation Reports. For each title, the investigators examined the Guidelines for Submission for authors submitting articles to the journal and evaluated the guidelines against a rubric that was developed for this study.

Quality Assurance: A subsample of six journals was evaluated by both investigators individually, and any differences in scoring were discussed and reconciled. This was done to provide a degree of internal validity. The remaining 140 titles were then split between the two investigators and assessed individually.
